Role

Visual compositing and music

The video's various scenes were created using a combination of Adobe's Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Animate before being combined in Adobe Premiere Pro. In the final step, music from Adobe Stock was added to the video, and rendering was completed.

Learnings

The project provided invaluable insights into effective time management, agile methodologies, and the ability to swiftly address challenges. Despite navigating constraints such as office hours and concurrent remote project commitments, our team demonstrated exceptional performance in this design challenge. As a result, we were honored with the distinction of First Runners-Up, highlighting our commitment to the our field.

Storyboarding and Animatic

We made an effort to incorporate the video's process and minimally styled process shots along with the video's brief and solutions. We experimented with several different storylines before settling on one that fit the timeline and the concept brief well.

A storyboard was first made to identify and correct the video's flow. Later, an animatic was made by assembling the storyboard and timing it to get a glimpse of the finished product.

Video Making Process

Visual Design

The screens final aesthetic and feel were chosen as vector graphics. The main justification for this was that the challenge's final animated video would be created using the prototype. The media used needed to have a distinct outline, shape, and definition, which was a secondary goal.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

The high level user flow was created for the MVP with the key focus on the AR feature flow in the app.

  1. Ideation

Virtual ideation sessions were conducted where all ideas were gathered and distributed at random. Later, these were properly categorised in order to gain some insightful information.

  1. Initial Studies

After conducting in-depth research on AR/VR research papers, existing apps like Reface, IKEA Place, ASOS, and Amazon(US) as well as AI and AR solutions like Nettelo, Zeekit, and VueModel were examined in order to scope out the technical and realisation possibilities as well as the various user test results and other outcomes in order to propose a workable solution.

Key Features

With the help of augmented reality, you can successfully try on those ideal dress combinations at one time by bringing the trial room experience right to your home. With no hassles of long lines or wait times, and, most importantly, the safest trial room experience, you can make decisions about your choices easily.

This project is the outcome of a Design Challenge conducted by Adobe in collaboration with Wongdoody Design Studio. Completed within one week, it showcases our ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

The 2020 Creative Jam Contest, organized by Adobe in partnership with Wongdoody, tasked participants with addressing a specific design challenge and submitting their solutions in video format. Our project utilized Adobe's tools and resources to meet the contest requirements.

Design Approach

Build an AR/VR-based retail experience for buying apparels.

In the current scenario, visiting apparel stores is challenging due to COVID-19 restrictions. India Fashion, a leading apparel brand in major Indian cities, needs a design solution for an AR/VR-based retail experience. This solution should simplify the buying process while adhering to lockdown norms. It must be user-friendly, efficient, and closely mimic the real shopping experience.
